Can you say sour?

We are working on Carson's oral stimulation. Nancy is checking to see if part of Carson's problem for not swallowing correctly is caused by Sensory Processing Disorder. The definition of SPD is the inability to use information received through the senses in order to function smoothly in daily life. It isn't one specific disorder such as deafness or blindness, but rather an umbrella term to cover a variety of neurological disabilities. So in laymen terms, his brain isn't communicating with the rest of his body to perform the right actions.

So Nancy sprayed some sour spray on his toothbrush and it didn't really faze him. Then she sprayed a lot and here is was his reaction........SOUR, but he sure is so dang cute!!

Those pictures had me cracking up...but at the same time thinking "poor Carson." I think if that were Kaden we would have a really hard time brushing his teeth afterwards, there would be no way he would let us put his toothbrush back in his mouth : ).
