I need some help please......

Okay, so I'm on the phone talking to my mother and she asked me what time Carson's appointment was going to be in regards to the Cardiologist appointment. I was looking over the discharge paperwork and found a diagnosis on the sheet. I never saw it until 10:00PM tonight. The sheet says they have determined from his EEG that he has Left Ventricular Hypertrophy. Does anyone know anything about this? Does your child have this? Are there any nurses that are reading this? Everything I have read so far looks very scary. One thing I read off of American Heart Assn states that 40% of children with this will either die or be in need of a heart transplant. My private e-mail is Studio213_kc@sbcglobal.net If you know anything about this and have the time, please e-mail me either some info or your phone number.

I'm sure as you can tell, I'm very nervous right now and Carson has actually gone to sleep but now I cannot.

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help.

Oh Kaci: What a way to find that out! I think someone should be notififed of that immediately. What a scarey thing! I only know what you know about that condition. I wish I had encouragement. Know that the Lord is wrapping His arms around you to give you strength and comfort. Please call if you need to. Don't worry about interrupting anything. Love to you.

This has to be very scary but try to stay calm and learn all you can - which it sounds like you're doing. *hugs* I don't know anything about it but am hoping you will talk to his docs too.

Wow, I can not believe that nobody told you about this before you left the hospital. I honestly would probably call the hospital and tell them that you need to talk to somebody about the diagnoises. How scary. Sorry, I have never heard of it before...at least not what it consist of. Let me know if you hear anything.

Keeping you guys in my prayers.

Holy SH**!! WHY did they not tell you about this? I would be freaking out too. I am hoping that things are okay, and that you can get this all figured out.

I am really hoping for a typo or maybe just a suspicion of this?

Argh, that's all you need. Please know that we are thinking of you and we love you.

((HUGS))

Sorry I haven't posted but I've been very sick. I'm so sorry to hear about this. I have never heard of it but I'll ask my sister who has a nursing background about it tonight when I see her and then jot you an email. Loves....

Kaci,
I sent you an email. Call or email me back at johnkd@frontiernet.net if you want.
With all that has been happening on our end, I haven't had time to keep up on other blogs. I am sorry little Carson has been so sick lately. We will be at CMH on Monday and probably Tuesday. Hope to hear from you.

Oh my, I am so sorry. What a wild way to find out. Hopefully it is wrong or such a mild case that it won't even make a difference in the grand scheme of things.

Kaci,

Just checking in on you guys. I hope Carson is feeling better and that darn NG tube is staying in place. Haven't heard from you and it is making me a little worried. Is your appt. Monday??? Did you ever get a chance to call the hospital and have them explain everything to you???
