Then I took Cody and Carson to a train museum and Carson loved it. It had an old steam engine that you could walk through, a box car, stage coach, and caboose. Carson even got to ring the bell. Then we met up with the team at Springfield Brewery for dinner. After that the boys and I walked around Bass Pro shop for a while
Sunday morning we got up and headed back to the fields. We played the #1 team in the state of MO and beat them 2-1. It was a very intense game but we did it!
After the game I took Carson to a safari animal park where you drive through and feed the animals from your car. Carson was giggling the whole time. It was a great time. After that we went to the Wilson Creek Battlefield. It was an area that the south and north fought in 1861. Then it was off to dinner and back to the hotel for some rest.
Today was the final game! We had to win to go on to regionals. We played another team from St Louis and they are ranked third in the state. We played a very hard game. We scored within the first minute of the game and we were all pumped up. Half time it was still 1-0. About 20 minutes into the second half the other team scored. We ended the game 1-1. So it was our first 10 minute overtime and no one scored. Then came the second overtime and still ended 1-1. So then we went into sudden death where 5 kids from each team take turns kicking for a goal. We scored the first, then they did. We scored the second, so did they. Then Cody took the third kick and scored. They missed! Our 4th player scored and theirs.....BLOCKED by our goalie!! Then we celebrated!! Our next stop is in just a couple of weeks and we will be heading off to South Dakota. If we win the regionals we will be going to Nationals in July.....oh and did I mention that Nationals is in Boston? Keep your fingers crossed.
Now for the pictures and I will warn you now, there are lots because I'm the proud mom that has bragging rights.
This is the first of many. Cody is in the blue Academy uniform and his number is 3. Another action shot.
Cody already slid tackled and pushed the ball away from the other team.
These next several actually go together. This is Cody fighting for the ball.
A little pushing going on.
All ball and still not giving up.
Now he is using his hands a little for some balance.
Still going for it as the poor kid is trying to get back up.
And he's off and if you look over the woman in pink.....the boy is back on the ground.....but Cody won the ball!

YAY!!! Sounds like they did awesome. Congrats and good luck!!!
Congrats!! That sounds like it was a fun trip and it ended great. I love watching close intense games, not playing in them:)
Sweet, good job boys. I can't wait until Carter gets older and his games get more competitive. We are waiting to see if he makes all stars. He is the best on the team but he is so young he tends to get overlooked right now. Our fingers are crossed.
Awesome pictures Kaci!!! Love them. I am so proud of the boys. Tell them Congrats for me. That is a huge accomplishment.
You should be such a proud mama! That is a wonderful accomplishment...
